The deck and window openings are positioned to take full advantage of the scenic view oriented toward the west face of the house. The staggered, terraced roof has been developed to maximize the amount of living space while still complying with the Hermossa Beach height limitation which is dependent on the uneven grade. Deck area, living space, kitchen and dining room are unobstructed, open spaces that mimic lanai and courtyard plans where the outdoor areas become a vital extension of the interior.
